A romantic dramedy of sorts, which puts an innovative twist on the old "biological clock" dilemma by introducing a sci-fi/fantasy element: somebody has invented a device that will calculate the time until you meet your soulmate. Funny, with a story that goes places you might not expect, and a central concept that lives up to and rises beyond interesting-gimmick territory. Raises some interesting questions: given the choice, would you want to know? A well-crafted film that determinedly avoids the path of crowd-pleasing fluff so many similar movies tread. Give it a chance, from somebody for whom the phrase "romantic dramedy" usually raises red flags.
