Happy turkey weekend to all.

Another diamond in the Netflix Instant rough, and credit to South Bend Seven for the tip. Moon is a riveting little sci-fi film, drawing heavily on classics of the genre, most obviously 2001: A Space Odyssey, with its very own HAL in the Kevin Spacey-voiced GERTY. The script has echoes of Asimov's short stories, with the intersection between technology and humanity creating uncharted conundrums.

Sam Rockwell, as the only human lead, is tasked with carrying the film, and he rises to the challenge. Without giving too much away (as the trailer below flirts with doing), he delivers an award-worthy performance under what must have been challenging circumstances.
