Alex Karpovsky - Beyond "Girls"

Probably best known to the millenial set as Ray from "Girls," Alex Karpovsky is a pretty prolific writer/director/actor in his own right, with some films on Netflix you should check out. Supporting Characters is a sharp indie romcom directed by Daniel Schechter, and Red Flag is a melan-comic(?) mumblecore road flick written and directed by Karpovsky himself with one of the best payoffs of a running gag that I've seen. Side note: I am really loving the thumbnail frame synchronicity in the trailers below. Dude loves him some straws.
