Alex Winston at U Street Music Hall

Having enjoyed Detroit-area* songstress Alex Winston's debut album King Con, I was excited to find out last-minute that she was hitting DC's "U-Hall" for a Thursday night show. This was both my first Winston show and first U-Hall show, and neither disappointed. The band sounded tight and the small venue made for an intimate concert. Look for them to make continued noise in the indie pop scene. Check the record out:
